Description

This easy and delicious Whipped Goat Cheese recipe combines creamy goat cheese and sour cream for a light, airy texture, topped with crispy pancetta and toasted panko breadcrumbs. It’s perfect as a flavorful dip or spread served alongside assorted fresh vegetables, toasted bread, and crackers for a delightful appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Whipped Cheese Mixture

  • 16 oz. goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Pancetta Topping

  • 2 oz. pancetta, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley, chopped

For Serving

  • Assorted vegetables
  • Toasted bread
  • Crackers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Whipped Cheese: Add the goat cheese and sour cream to a food processor and blend until the mixture is light and fully incorporated, about 30 seconds. Set this mixture aside in a bowl for serving.
  2. Cook the Pancetta: In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the diced pancetta, stirring occasionally, until it becomes crisp and the fat is rendered, about 10 minutes.
  3. Toast Panko and Mix: Add the panko breadcrumbs and chopped parsley to the skillet with the pancetta. Stir occasionally and toast the panko until it turns golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
  4. Assemble and Serve: Transfer the whipped goat cheese into a large shallow serving bowl. Spoon the pancetta and toasted panko mixture evenly over the top. Serve immediately with an assortment of fresh vegetables, toasted bread, and crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • Use full-fat goat cheese for the creamiest texture.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the pancetta and increase the amount of toasted breadcrumbs and add extra herbs for flavor.
  • This dip is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days. Re-whip lightly before serving.
  • Feel free to substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a tangier taste and added protein.
  • Assorted vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes work well as dippers.
