Pasta:
- 8 ounces uncooked penne
Sausage Mixture:
- 11 ounces hot Italian sausages, removed from casings
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 1/2 tablespoon flour
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juices
- 1/2 cup heavy/whipping cream
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Small handful fresh basil, sliced/torn
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Boil salted water and cook pasta al dente.
- Cook Sausage: Crumble and brown sausage in a skillet.
- Prepare Sauce: Cook garlic, broth, and flour in skillet. Add tomatoes, cream, and cooked sausage. Simmer until thickened.
- Finish Dish: Add basil to sauce, toss with pasta, and serve with parmesan.
