Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Dough
- 2 cups store-bought or homemade edible cookie dough
Decorations and Assembly
- 9 mini Oreos
- 18 Rolo chocolate candies
- 18 snowflake sprinkles (optional)
- Black pearl sprinkles, for decorating (eyes and mouth)
- Orange pearl sprinkles, for decorating (nose)
Chocolate Ganache
- 2 cups (240 g) white chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Portion Cookie Dough: Scoop the cookie dough into 1-Tbsp-sized balls, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. You should have 18 balls total. Freeze the dough until it is very firm, about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Prepare Oreos: Carefully separate the mini Oreos and scrape off the frosting. You can enjoy the frosting as a treat while you continue.
- Melt Ganache: In a medium heatproof bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and coconut oil together in 15-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. This should take around 45 seconds to 1 minute.
- Form Ganache Bases: Spoon 18 rounds, about 1 inch in diameter, of the melted white chocolate ganache onto another parchment-lined baking sheet. These will serve as the base for each cookie dough bite. There will be some ganache left over for decorating.
- Assemble Hats: Dip the smaller rounded end of each Rolo candy into the remaining ganache. Attach the dipped part to the flat side of a mini Oreo to form a snowman’s hat. If using, dip a snowflake sprinkle into the ganache and place it at the rim of the hat where the Oreo meets the Rolo.
- Coat Dough Balls and Decorate: Roll each frozen cookie dough scoop into a smooth ball. Using a fork, dip each dough ball into the ganache to fully coat it, then gently press the coated ball onto a ganache round on the baking sheet. Before the chocolate sets, attach two black sugar pearls for eyes, then 3 to 4 black pearls in a semicircle for the mouth. Place one orange sugar pearl for the nose. Finally, place the Oreo and Rolo hat on top of the dough ball’s head. Repeat for all dough balls.
- Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate ganache on the bites to fully set before serving. This will take about 15 to 20 minutes.
Notes
- Use edible cookie dough to ensure it’s safe to consume without baking.
- If you can’t find mini Oreos, regular Oreos can be carefully cut into smaller pieces.
- Adjust the white chocolate and coconut oil quantities slightly if ganache consistency is too thick or thin.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a festive touch, you can use colored sprinkles or edible glitter.
