Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1620 Peeps (feel free to mix colors for a festive touch)
  • 6 tablespoons Butter, sliced thinly

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish by coating it with non-stick spray. Also, lightly spray your spatula to avoid sticking later.
  2. Arrange the Peeps.
Separate 16-20 Peeps and arrange them in the prepared baking dish. You can create a colorful pattern or group similar colors together to make your treats visually appealing.
  3. Add Rice Krispies.
Evenly pour the 4 cups of Rice Krispies over the Peeps, ensuring they are well distributed for a balanced texture.
  4. Distribute the butter.
Take your 6 tablespoons of sliced butter and spread them evenly throughout the baking dish. This step ensures the mixture bakes evenly and melds together.
  5. Bake the treats.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 8 minutes. The Peeps will melt, and the Rice Krispie mixture will bind together perfectly.
  6. Cool and serve.
Allow the treats to cool slightly in the pan. You can enjoy them warm for a gooey dessert experience or let them set further before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Use seasonal Peeps for a festive look (e.g., pastel-colored Peeps for Easter or orange Peeps for Halloween).
  • Try using flavored Rice Krispies or adding some sprinkles on top for additional color and texture.
  • Ensure the butter is evenly distributed to prevent any dry spots in your treats.
  • If you prefer stovetop preparation, this recipe can also be made in a saucepan by melting the Peeps and butter together, then stirring in the Rice Krispies (no baking required).
