Description

These Here’s Looking at Boo Eyeball Pops are festive Halloween treats featuring colorful candy melts and a variety of spooky sprinkles. The pops feature candy eyeballs embedded in a mix of orange and white candy melts, decorated with themed sprinkles for a fun and eerie look perfect for parties or trick-or-treaters.

Ingredients

Scale

Sprinkle Mix

  • 3.5 oz. Pumpkin Sprinkles
  • 0.88 oz. Candy Eyeballs
  • 3 oz. White Nonpareils (Cake Decorating Supplies)
  • 4.8 oz. Black Sugar Pearls
  • 3 oz. Skull and Bones Sprinkles Mix
  • 3.25 oz. Orange Sanding Sugar
  • 3.25 oz. Black Sanding Sugar
  • 1 oz. Large Edible Black and White Candy Eyeball Sprinkles
  • 1 oz. Large Candy Eyeballs

Candy Melts and Colors

  • Bright White Candy Melts
  • Icing Colors (4 Color Primary Set) for tinting candy melts

Instructions

  1. Make sprinkle mixes: Combine the various sprinkles by sorting them into two separate bowls. In one bowl, mix black sugar pearls, skull and bones sprinkles, and half of the black nonpareils. In the other bowl, combine orange and black sanding sugars, jack-o’-lantern sprinkles, and the remaining half of the black nonpareils. Each bowl should contain about half a cup of the mix.
  2. Prepare melted candy: Melt the candy melts according to the package instructions. Tint half of the melted candy orange using the orange icing color from the set, leaving the other half white. Pour each colored candy melt into its own decorating bag for piping.
  3. Make the pops: Working with one decorating bag at a time, cut a small opening at the tip. Pipe a circle about 2 inches in diameter on a cake board lined with parchment paper. Insert approximately 1 inch of a treat stick into the melted candy circle. Gently tap the board to even out the candy surface.
  4. Decorate the pops: While the candy is still sticky, scatter the appropriate sprinkle mix over each pop. Then, place candy eyeballs over the sprinkled surface to enhance the spooky eyeball look. Repeat until all pops are made.
  5. Chill to set: Place the pops in the refrigerator or a cool area to allow the candy melts to fully set, about 5 to 10 minutes, before removing and serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper or silicone mats on the cake board to prevent sticking.
  • Work quickly when decorating as melted candy hardens fast.
  • You can customize the eyeball size and sprinkle mix based on availability or preference.
  • Store the pops in a cool, dry place to keep them from melting or becoming sticky.
  • Use caution inserting the treat sticks to avoid puncturing the base too deeply and breaking the candy circle.
