Description

This festive Gluten-Free Christmas Chex Mix is a delightful holiday snack combining crunchy rice and corn cereals, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, salted peanuts, and colorful red and green M&Ms, all coated in a smooth vanilla almond bark white chocolate. Perfect for holiday gatherings, this easy-to-make treat offers both sweetness and crunch, with optional festive sprinkles for an extra cheerful presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ cups Cheerios Cereal
  • 2 ½ cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (preferably twists)
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts (just salted, not seasoned)
  • 1 cup Red & Green M&Ms Candy (milk chocolate or peanut butter)
  • 16 oz. Vanilla Almond Bark White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Chips

Optional Decoration

  • 1-2 Tablespoons red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Station: Spread out a few sheets of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or your counter to prepare a space for the mix to cool and set.
  2. Combine The Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients: Set aside half the M&Ms for decoration. In a large bowl, mix together Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, half the M&Ms, and the salted peanuts.
  3. Melt The White Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt vanilla almond bark or white chocolate chips in 20-30 second intervals, stirring after each until smooth and lump-free. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler on the stovetop.
  4. Drizzle & Stir: Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal mixture, quickly stirring to evenly coat everything before the coating hardens.
  5. Spread Out, Sprinkle & Cool: Transfer the coated mixture onto the prepared parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle the reserved M&Ms and optional sprinkles over the top. Allow the mixture to cool completely so the coating sets, forming some clusters.
  6. Serve & Store: Once set, enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • Reserve some M&Ms to add after coating to ensure both coated and visible colorful candies for a prettier presentation.
  • Adding sprinkles like nonpareils or jimmies enhances the festive look though it does not affect the flavor.
  • For extra decorative effect, dip a portion of pretzels separately in melted almond bark, sprinkle with sprinkles, and let dry before mixing with the rest.
