Ingredients
Scale
Fruit and Spices
- 2 apples (Honeycrisp recommended), chopped
- 1 orange, sliced
- 3 cinnamon sticks
Liquids
- 1 750ml bottle wine (Cabernet Sauvignon or white wine like Pinot Grigio)
- 2 cups apple cider
- ½ cup orange juice
- ½ cup brandy
Instructions
- Prepare the fruit: Chop the apples into bite-sized pieces and slice the orange into thin rounds. These will infuse the sangria with fresh, fruity flavor.
- Combine ingredients: In a large pitcher, add the chopped apples, orange slices, and cinnamon sticks. Pour in the brandy, wine, orange juice, and apple cider. Stir gently to mix all components thoroughly.
- Chill and infuse: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it sit for at least 3 hours to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, chill for 4 hours or longer.
- Serve: Stir the sangria again before serving. Pour into glasses over ice if desired. Optionally, rim glasses with cinnamon sugar for an added festive touch.
Notes
- For a cinnamon sugar rim, mix equal parts sugar and ground cinnamon on a plate, moisten glass rims with a slice of orange or water, then dip rims into the mixture.
- Use either red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon) for a deeper flavor or a white wine like Pinot Grigio for a lighter version.
- Allowing the sangria to chill longer intensifies the flavor as the fruits and spices infuse thoroughly.
- Adjust sweetness by adding a little sugar or honey if desired.
- No cooking is involved; this is a no-cook recipe making it quick and easy to prepare.
