Description

Cowboy Spaghetti is a hearty and flavorful one-pan meal that combines the comfort of spaghetti with the robust flavors of ground beef, bacon, and chili. This dish is perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner, featuring a cheesy, slightly spicy sauce with a touch of smokiness.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (15-ounce) can Rotel tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Diced green scallions, for garnish
  • Sliced jalapeño, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Spaghetti: Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook Bacon: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until browned and crisp (about 7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook Beef and Onion: In the same skillet, cook ground beef and onion until meat is no longer pink and onion is softened.
  4. Add Garlic: Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add Seasonings: Stir in chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, Rotel tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Combine well.
  6. Combine Pasta and Bacon: Add cooked spaghetti and bacon to the meat mixture, tossing to combine.
  7. Add Cheese: Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the noodles and gently toss. Cover and let the cheese melt for about 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with green scallions and jalapeño slices (if using). Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chili powder and jalapeño to your preferred level of spiciness.
  • You can use other cheeses like Monterey Jack or a blend of cheddar and pepper jack.
  • For a smoky flavor, add a dash of liquid smoke to the sauce.
