Description

This Copycat Starbucks Turkey Pesto Sandwich is a deliciously warm panini featuring ciabatta rolls layered with basil pesto, deli turkey, provolone cheese, and roasted red peppers. Perfect for a quick lunch or snack, it combines savory flavors with a crispy, toasted bread exterior.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread & Spreads

  • 2 ciabatta rolls, sliced in half
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup basil pesto

Fillings

  • 2-4 slices of provolone cheese
  • ¼ cup roasted red peppers
  • ¼ pound deli turkey meat

Instructions

  1. Preheat Panini Grill: Preheat a panini grill over medium heat. If your panini maker has a flat plate side, use that for best results.
  2. Prepare Bread: Brush the outside of both pieces of bread with olive oil to ensure a crispy, golden crust during grilling.
  3. Spread Pesto: Open the bread and generously spread basil pesto on the inside of both halves of each roll for rich herbaceous flavor.
  4. Assemble Sandwich: Place 1-2 slices of provolone cheese on the bottom half, followed by a quarter of the turkey. Add roasted red peppers on top, then close the sandwich with the top half of the roll.
  5. Grill Sandwich: Place the sandwich on the panini grill, close the lid, and cook for 5-7 minutes until the cheese melts and the sandwich is heated through.
  6. Serve: Remove from the grill, slice the sandwich in half, and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • For a cheesier sandwich, use 2 slices of cheese instead of one.
  • Freezing this sandwich is not recommended as it may affect texture and flavor.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled to serve more people.
  • If you don’t like roasted red peppers, substitute with fresh tomato slices.
  • You can prepare this sandwich on the stove using a skillet and a weighted lid if a panini press is unavailable.
  • Use turkey slices that are not too thin to ensure good texture.
  • Feel free to make your own fresh pesto to enhance flavor.
