Rolls
- 1 can crescent roll dough sheet
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Icing Glaze
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 & 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Muffin Tin
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray 6 sections of a muffin tin with cooking spray and set aside. - Prepare the Dough
Roll out the crescent roll dough sheet on a clean work surface. Brush it evenly with the melted butter. - Add the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Mix thoroughly. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough surface, covering it completely. - Roll and Slice
With the shorter side of the dough facing you, roll it tightly into a cylinder. Use a serrated knife to slice the roll into 6 even pieces. - Fill the Muffin Tin
Place each roll, cut side up, into a prepared section of the muffin tin. - Bake the Rolls
Bake in the preheated oven for 11-15 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown. Once done, transfer the muffin tin to a wire rack and allow the rolls to cool slightly. - Prepare the Icing
In a medium-sized bowl, whip the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Incorporate the melted butter, mixing until smooth. Gradually add the milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the glaze has reached a thick yet pourable consistency. - Glaze and Serve
Remove the rolls from the muffin tin. Drizzle the warm rolls generously with the cream cheese glaze. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Use crescent dough sheets rather than regular crescent rolls. If using regular crescent rolls, pinch the seams together to create a smooth sheet.
- These cinnamon rolls can be frozen for later use.
- Glaze the rolls while they are still warm for the best taste.
- For an extra cinnamon kick, add a touch of cinnamon to the glaze.
- Double or triple the recipe to serve larger groups.
- Use unflavored dental floss for cleanly slicing the rolls.
- This is a beginner-friendly recipe, perfect for first-time cinnamon roll makers.
