Description

These Air Fryer Apples are a quick and healthy treat, perfect for a cozy snack or dessert. Slices of apples are tossed with a buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture and air fried until soft on the inside and slightly caramelized on the outside. This recipe is easy, takes minimal prep, and is great for satisfying a sweet tooth in a wholesome way.

Ingredients

Scale

Apples

  • 3 small apples or 2 large apples (such as Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp)

Butter and Flavorings

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Sugar and Spices

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (or any preferred granulated sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples – Wash, peel (optional), core, and slice the apples into even wedges. This ensures they cook evenly and caramelize well.
  2. Make the Coating – In a small bowl, melt the butter. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until combined into a fragrant mixture.
  3. Toss Apples with Mixture – Place apple slices in a large bowl. Pour the butter-sugar mixture over the apples and toss well to coat all sides thoroughly.
  4. Arrange in Air Fryer – Place the coated apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding for best results; cook in batches if needed.
  5. Air Fry – Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and cook the apples for 8-10 minutes. Shake the basket or turn the apples halfway through, cooking until they’re golden, soft, and slightly crisp at the edges.
  6. Serve – Enjoy warm as a snack, dessert, or topping for oatmeal or pancakes. Optionally, garnish with an extra pinch of cinnamon or a dollop of yogurt.

Notes

  • Use your favorite apple variety for different flavors and textures.
  • Peeled or unpeeled apples both work; peeling gives a softer result.
  • Adjust sugar and spices to taste for milder or stronger flavors.
  • Serve these apples on their own or with ice cream, yogurt, or pancakes.
